The Free Person’s Roundtable is a forum for public opinion that features free-thinking opinionated and progressive-minded people defining and commenting on the issues that they see as relevant. The issues could be anything that has effect on our daily lives from education, religion, environment, technology, to health care, media, society, or art — the basic “A to Z’s” of life.

By discussing these issues, we hope to uncover the real sources that are negatively impacting daily life.  When we try to come to solutions through unfiltered and uncensored dialogues, we open the door for new ideas.  By featuring the free persons of our podcast thinking for themselves, we hope to get people engaged, first in dialogue, and finally in ways to actively improve their communities.

Media for the Rest of Us

Recently, major media news has become increasingly political, corporate, destructive and divisive.  Too often, big media censors our radical ideas labeling them as too outrageous for the mainstream.  Yet, some of those very same radical ideas, that really are the innovative ones, can vastly change and help heal society.  In the current media system, we are reduced to being taxpayers, voters, viewers, workers, or just commodities. Rarely are we ever considered to be an intelligent, independent, and free thinking people with solutions.

FPR believes, we are all very able individuals capable of examining problems in our communities and acting independently to solve those issues at a grass roots level.  The FPR podcast is designed to create that forum for: we, the creative, self-aware, and independent people that can offer constructive, informative, and enlightening discourse.

Joining the New Paradigm

As we keep saying, it is time to explore the world with all the radical ideas “on the table,” together as as team and community — actually doing something about it in constructive manner without sidestepping each-other or the problems. It is time to think differently. We are heading into unfamiliar territory in this future we all have made for ourselves. Humanity simply will not be able to rely on the ways of the past to survive. As a result we feel we must open the door for this needed creativity to flourish and to get personal opinions out into the hands of others.  Free people thinking and sharing openly is the only way we can start.

Dru: Describes himself as an Anarcho-Syndicalist with Georgistic tendencies. Dru is a resident of the Midwest by way of an upbringing on the East coast. He was taught at a young age that having a stand is better than having your opinion made for you, and that it is your responsibility to hold the powers that be to the light.

Emmet: Life-long student, artist, world traveler, and philosopher, Emmet dreams of a world where happiness is the norm and fear has no place. Reluctant to be labeled under any “ism” Emmet believes that different forms of government work at different levels but the key is to come to some consensus on what works for all through education and discussion.

For those who may have missed it this week, President Obama spent his day Monday addressing the American Medical Association in his adopted home of Chicago, Illinois. During the speech, the President gave his most complete view of how he plans to reform the Health Care system in the United States. Above are his unedited comments made to the AMA.
